![]() Rescuing Rap's Past The Hip Hop History and Culture Exhibition is a living history of the music, style and art that began over a quarter century ago. Inspired by a culture and attitude that found new ways to create and entertain with the most limited resources: original music created from turntables, microphones, mixers and top secret record samples borrowed from old and new places and milk crates used as album carrying cases. A new definition of high fashion and art combined casual style, sportswear and street sensibilities. Graffiti evolved from scribbled tags to an elaborate art form. The B Boy's dance and expression came of age. The Global Artists Coalition is the nonprofit multicultural arts organization behind the Hip Hop History & Culture Exhibition with proceeds going to the preservation of exhibition artifacts and to carry out its mission. |
